Websense Security Labs has received reports of a new phishing attack that targets customers of Maybank2U.
Users receive a spoofed email which claims that a software upgrade is being carried out. The message requests that users confirm account details, and they should click on a link in the email to start the procedure. The link leads to a fake login page.
This phishing site is hosted in Portugal and was up at the time of this alert.
Phishing email text:
Dear client of MayBank2u,
Technical services of the MayBank2u are carrying out a planned software upgrade. We earnestly ask you to visit the following link to start the procedure of confirmation on customers data.
